From an ISP box on the floor to a managed closet

This office had grown up around whatever was on hand: the cable company’s router sitting on the closet floor, an unmanaged switch, network cable that wasn’t in-wall rated, and a back wall full of old analog phone wiring. We ran all new cabling into a surface-mount patch panel, relocated the building’s existing security-panel wiring over to the side wall, pulled out the dead phone wiring, and put in a UniFi router, a managed UniFi switch, and an access point — then dressed the rest of the cabling and got their UPS battery backup working again.
